The protection window is the maximum time you can delay taking your pill without losing contraceptive cover: 24 hours for the combined pill, 12 hours for desogestrel mini-pills (Cerazette, Cerelle), and 3 hours for most other mini-pills. Estroclic shows this on the home screen in real time: your reminder time, your "must take by" deadline, and a SAFE or AT RISK status. You don't calculate anything; the app does it based on your specific pill type.
